The Cabin by Natasha Preston

The Cabin by Natasha Preston

They think they’re invincible.

They think they can do and say whatever they want. They think there are no consequences. They’ve left me no choice. It’s time for them to pay for their sins.

A weekend partying at a remote cabin is just what Mackenzie needs. She can’t wait to let loose with her friends. But a crazy night of fun leaves two of them dead—murdered.

With no signs of a forced entry or struggle, suspicion turns to the five survivors. Someone isn’t telling the truth. And Mackenzie’s first mistake? Assuming the killing is over…

Review:

I really loved The Cellar by Natasha Preston, which is what made me want to read ALL of her books. I get obsessed once I love an author, and it makes me want to read everything they've written. Plus The Cabin looked right up my alley! Murder, mystery, remote cabin = yes!
I was a bit disappointed with the story line when I got into it. The remote cabin is part of the story, but it's a small section. Whereas I was hoping, I guess from the description, that it was going to all take place there. It didn't. Oh well. There were also a few plot holes that sort of took me out of the story a few times. It could be that I just notice way more I need to but anyways.
She did a really good job with keeping you guessing on who did it throughout the book. I didn't necessarily love the ending, it leaves it open so she could possibly do a sequel, but I don't know how that would play out. But also they way everything was set up at the end led me to believe it wouldn't really work out the way said person thinks....I would still recommend because someone else might love the book completely. It's fine to be different! :)

The Martian By Andy Weir!!!

The Martian by Andy Weir Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars.  Now, he’s sure he’ll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive.  Chances are, though, he won’t have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain-old “human error” are much more likely to kill him first.  But Mark isn’t ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills — and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit — he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him? Review: I finally read this book after numerous friends tol...

Checkmate: This is Love By Kennedy Fox!!!

Checkmate: This is Love (Travis & Viola #2) By Kennedy Fox Viola Fisher is the epitome of perfection. She despises my one-night stands and mocks my less-than-classy habits. She’s smart, beautiful, and too good to be true. And I  want  her. If she were anyone else, I’d have made my move years ago, but considering she’s my best friend’s little sister, she’s always been off-limits. Not to mention how much she loathes my very existence. Hating me is her religion, but needing her is mine. Her sexy curves and filthy smart mouth make me want her even more, and I’m more determined than ever to change her mind. I’ll prove I’m done playing games. But until then, we’ll continue to play by her rules. Viola Fisher may have won the battle, but the war isn’t over yet. Checkmate,  princess.   Review:  Book two is just as amazing as the first! Filled with witty come backs, sexy moments, drama, and twists coming at every angle. This is a must read series and I canno...

The Queen's Rising Series by Rebecca Ross

I loved this series! I never wanted it to end! Rebecca Ross has an amazing writing style that pulls you into the story and won't let go. There's mystery which I love. I enjoy having something to figure out, and the author being able to keep the truth hidden until the end. Guessing is obviously my favorite, but I thoroughly enjoy being wrong at the end.  ;)  If you love fantasy and great storytelling, jump into this two book series! I can't wait to read more of her writing! The Queen's Rising When her seventeenth summer solstice arrives, Brienna desires only two things: to master her passion and to be chosen by a patron. Growing up in the southern kingdom of Valenia at the renowned Magnalia House should have prepared her. While some are born with a talent for one of the five passions—art, music, dramatics, wit, and knowledge—Brienna struggled to find hers until she chose knowledge. However, despite all her preparations, Brienna’s greatest fear comes true: she is left wi...
