Detective Kate Covington Series By Billie Reece

A Lullaby In The Dark

A Southern Crime Thriller

Ten years ago, a child serial killer—dubbed the Lullaby Man—confessed to abducting and murdering four young girls.

Now in a maximum-security psychiatric hospital in East Tennessee, he’s visited regularly by Kate Covington, the detective who put him there, who won’t close the investigation until the remains of the first victim are found.

Then a little girl goes missing while hiking in the woods with her dad, and Kate is called in to help. The evidence is chillingly familiar—the same photo of the girl’s tear-stained face, a letter with the same message, a smiley face, an old doll.

Did they lock up the wrong guy? Is it a copycat crime? Or is something more sinister at play?

Each turn of the investigation brings more questions than answers, and Kate and her team have limited time to figure out who kidnapped the girl.

Is the real Lullaby Man about to claim his next victim?

Review:
A great story of the trial of human nature. Filled with dark twists and the edge of your seat moments pulling you through each page as you try to figure out what will happen next. How will the case be solved or will it? I'm excited for this series, I can't wait to see where it goes from here!

Hate Notes By Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward Cover Reveal!!

A standalone romance novel published by Montlake Romance By: New York Times Bestselling Authors Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward Release Date: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 SYNOPSIS: It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.  Something blue.  I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”  Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.  The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.  He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from...

"I ate them like salad..." Our love for books, regardless of their content.

Happy Banned Books Week readers! Usually, I don't think too much about banned books.  I have such a deep love for the written word that it never occurs to me that someone, somewhere could possibly take offense to the beautiful words these brilliant minds have shared with us.  The theme of this week however has forced me to stop for a second and think, "Where would I be without my books y'all?!" Emma and some of her favorite banned books :) One of my all time favorite books, FAHRENHEIT 451 by Ray Bradbury is not only a banned book, but it is also an insightful and deep commentary on censorship (how's that for irony eh?).  I was "fortunate" enough to read this book in high school.  I say "fortunate" because I know in my heart how blessed I was to study literature in school, however I struggled with the forced nature of reading created by needing to prove I had learned something from the material.  By the time I got to my Senior year when ...
