Piper Investigations Series By Shannon Greenland!

Piper Investigations Series!

The Case of the Bad Twin by Shannon Greenland

Through a series of ridiculous events, thirteen-year-old Penny-Ann Piper has come to live on Piper Island with her quirky Aunt Grace. Although Penny’s new to the eccentric and salty Florida town, she’s proud of her connection to it. After all, her grandparents founded the oddball place where everyone makes it their business to know your business. They’re nosy that way.

So when someone steals the time capsule Penny-Ann created chronicling the island’s history, she’s determined to get it back. Principal Berger and Officer Crawl think it’s a prank, but who could have taken it, and why? Penny-Ann’s on-again-off-again best friend Josie? Rocco Garcia, the annoying (but also cute) surfer boy? Twin MMA fighters who think muscles should get them a credit in math?

With the help of her new friend, Diamond, who may or may not be part of the X-Men, Penny-Ann revives Piper Investigations, her grandparents’ detective agency. But there’s more to the missing time capsule than anyone realizes. It seems someone will do anything to get Penny-Ann to back off the case…including revealing her top-secret, ultra-embarrassing past.

Review:

Penny-Ann is the curious kid inside all of us. Her adventure seeking nature is contagious making you never want to put this story down. With fun side characters and tons of possible suspects, it will keep you wondering and guessing until the end! This is another must read from an amazing author!!

The Gator in a Tux by Shannon Greenland

Penny-Ann Piper is back, armed with attitude—not to mention a pea shooter, lock picks, mini binoculars, and a flashlight that may or may not have batteries.

This time she’s after Maura Alva, daughter of the local taxidermist, who pranked the island’s oldest, most beloved resident and caused her to break a leg. Maura took off and Penny’s going to find her and make her pay!

Staggering knee-deep through the world of preserved animals, Penny-Ann traipses through swamps, creepy houses, and cemeteries, with her pal Diamond De Luca at her side. And this time Rocco Garcia, the flirty local surfer boy, joins in. Because well, he’s always up for a good adventure and he seems to like finding it around Penny-Ann.

But when threatening notes arrive, someone vandalizes her playhouse, and embalmed animal parts appear on her doorstep, Penny-Ann realizes this is so much bigger than Maura pulling a prank.

With only one true case under her belt but learning fast, Penny’s targeted by the sneakiest opponent she's encountered yet. Can she patch together the puzzle or will her adversary get away with the biggest heist ever?

Review:
Loved this! She's back with another exciting adventure! The second book in the series doesn't disappoint as Penny-Ann and her friends have another case to investigate!

The Island Mafia by Shannon Greenland

Penny-Ann Piper, the prying teen in a brand new sundress, has returned. And her eye is twitching. She’s been given the dreadful task of finding Mama Garcia, the island’s grouchiest citizen. She was caught speeding and opted to outrun the cops. Now there’s a warrant out for her arrest and she’s nowhere to be found.

To make matters worse, Penny-Ann’s mom, a former con artist, is fresh out of prison and sticking to her side like super glue. She’s a little too eager to take down Mama Garcia.

Rocco, the surfer boy with the ridiculous dimples, is being a little too helpful. Given that Mama Garcia is his grandmother, this can mean only one thing. He’s helping her run from the law!

Diamond De Luca, Penny-Ann’s partner, joins in the search for Mama Garcia that has them tripping down a trail with mafia thugs, undercover FBI, vigilantes, and counterfeit money that leads right back to the person they least expect.

Cursed with bad luck, Penny-Ann must go deep undercover to infiltrate the mafia. Can she figure out why Piper Island is suddenly the new bad guy hang out or will they take over her beloved town?

Review:
I loved getting to see a whole new side of Penny-Ann when her mom comes back into the picture. This one became my favorite of the three with the mafia aspect. It was fun to guess how everyone is connected throughout the book. Definitely a great read!

Hate Notes By Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward Cover Reveal!!

A standalone romance novel published by Montlake Romance By: New York Times Bestselling Authors Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward Release Date: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 SYNOPSIS: It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.  Something blue.  I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”  Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.  The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.  He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from...

Happy Banned Books Week readers! Usually, I don't think too much about banned books.  I have such a deep love for the written word that it never occurs to me that someone, somewhere could possibly take offense to the beautiful words these brilliant minds have shared with us.  The theme of this week however has forced me to stop for a second and think, "Where would I be without my books y'all?!" Emma and some of her favorite banned books :) One of my all time favorite books, FAHRENHEIT 451 by Ray Bradbury is not only a banned book, but it is also an insightful and deep commentary on censorship (how's that for irony eh?).  I was "fortunate" enough to read this book in high school.  I say "fortunate" because I know in my heart how blessed I was to study literature in school, however I struggled with the forced nature of reading created by needing to prove I had learned something from the material.  By the time I got to my Senior year when ...
