Taking Chances By Molly McAdams!!

Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Her first year away is turning out to be nearly perfect, but one weekend of giving in to heated passion will change everything.

Eighteen-year-old Harper has grown up under the thumb of her career marine father. Ready to live life her own way and to experience things she's only ever heard of from the jarheads in her father's unit, she's on her way to college at San Diego State University.

Thanks to her new roommate, Harper is introduced to a world of parties, gorgeous guys, family, and emotions. She finds herself being torn in two as she quickly falls in love with both her new boyfriend, Brandon, and her roommate's brother, Chase. Despite their dangerous looks and histories, both men adore Harper and would do anything for her, including taking a step back if it would mean she'd be happy.

Review:

I felt like I was dying. Halfway through the book and my heart was ripped to shreds. I had to stop to sleep because every page after that, every moment just tore me apart even more.

I loved the characters from the beginning (some not so much, ya know.) I was team Chase from the start. I was mad through the first part, "Just freaking do what I want you to already!!" but obviously that's not how it works. Which is great because I love when a book puts you on your ass. And this one did. A Lot.

But dammit Molly McAdams, did you have to rip my soul out?!?!?! I know I know. I picked this book because it was on some post saying it'll make you bawl your eyes out. Well it succeeded. Truly.

It tore my heart out and ripped it to shreds then continued to beg for more, but alas I had no more to give.

I still cried through the last half of the book, but it was mostly happy tears. <3

I still highly recommend this book, but I would just add a disclaimer that you need a million boxes of tissues.

I told my husband, "It's not like The Fault In Our Stars where you bawl on the last tiny bit of the story. No. It's right in the middle where you still have so much more to cry through!" But it was amazing. Although I might have to watch an only funny/action movie, so I don't have a chance of crying anymore. I'm all cried out. <3

They're fascinating. But this story is more. A town ruined by a chemical company, which instantly made me think of Erin Brockovich. Nobody's Princess by Esther M. Friesner

Nobody's Princess by Esther M. Friesner She  is  beautiful, she  is  a princess, and Aphrodite  is  her favorite goddess, but something in Helen of Sparta just itches for more out of life. Not one to count on the gods—or her looks—to take care of her, Helen sets out to get what she wants with steely determination and a sassy attitude. That same attitude makes Helen a few enemies—such as the self-proclaimed "son of Zeus" Theseus—but it also intrigues, charms, and amuses those who become her friends, from the famed huntress Atalanta to the young priestess who is the Oracle of Delphi. In  Nobody's Princess,  author Esther Friesner deftly weaves together history and myth as she takes a new look at the girl who will become Helen of Troy. The resulting story offers up adventure, humor, and a fresh and engaging heroine you cannot help but root for.   Audience: 13+ Review:  I loved watching Helen grow up, I love seeing female characters g...
