Use cash and keep moving.

After I ran away from home, these were the two rules that dictated my life. Scoring a job as a roadie fit perfectly for what I needed. Traveling, cash, and life out of the spotlight. But when my path collides with West, the lead singer of Bus Stop, I can’t seem to stay out of his spotlight—especially since we’ll be touring together for an entire year.

West is determined to break down my walls. He won’t give up. And little by little they come crumbling. But if he knew what lurked behind them, he wouldn’t be so eager to get rid of them.

The more time we spend together, the more the lines of our friendship become blurred. He makes me dream of things I never thought possible. But while our friendship has been evolving into a romance, my secrets have been closing in. And just when I’ve decided to reveal my past to West, I’m confronted by it. The cost of my freedom could ruin the life of the guy I love…

Review (Kelsey):
From the first chapter of this intense YA thriller I was hooked. The beginning gives you a Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks feel, but you can tell it's going to more sinister as you go on. AND it does! This book is amazing in the way that it pulls your heart along, rips it open, then molds it back together throughout the entire book! This is a book about abuse, fear, and how to not let fear rule over your life. Whether you've been through something traumatic, know someone who has, or none-of-the-above, this book will appeal to you. Fear is a real aspect that everyone can relate to, and these characters will latch onto you and not let go. Eve is a ball of fire waiting to break free, West is a hot rockstar that will make you swoon, and her close friends make you wish you had people like that in your life<3 It was definitely one of my favorites, and I know what a lot of my family/friends will be getting for Christmas! This book is amazing, terrifying, lovely, and bold all wrapped up in one beautifully covered book<3 Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Review (Emma):
When Kelsey told me about this author I was intrigued.  We all know by now that I like to ready happy books, so things that lean toward the dark make me nervous.  I'm so glad I've taken the plunge because this book brings out all the feels, and sheds some MUCH needed light on abuse and its consequences.  What I loved about this book the most though, was that while the main character is clearly affected by her past, she is able to grow, and learn to trust the people around her.  SHADOW OF A GIRL is an incredible story of resilience, strength, and grit in a world where the lead characters past could have completely consumed her.  My only wish is that we could have lived in the freedom the lead character experiences towards the end just a little longer.  This book was a beautiful love story, but an even better story of strength despite intense struggle.
